The BCMPA was formed in 2000 and is a well-established trade association, respected throughout the UK and internationally for promoting the strategy of outsourcing to brand owners, retailers, e-commerce and manufacturing companies with the aim of securing business for our Members.
Our high profile has been achieved through a combination of exhibitions, trade press and the BCMPA website, which attracts well over 2,000 unique page views per month. Our reputation enables us to network with key contacts in the packaging, processing and logistics industries.
As a member you will have a branded profile page on the BCMPA website, displaying a summary of your services, full contact details and a link to your own website. Our comprehensive search facility enables customers to shortlist members with the services they want to outsource. In addition our online enquiry form generates over 900 sales leads a year, which we circulate to members via our eMarketing System.
The BCMPA has excellent contacts with the trade press and online media and can help link you with the channels relevant to your industry sector. We have strong ties with the packaging press (a common denominator for all members) and the BCMPA has a regular monthly feature in Packaging News, including The Contract Packer & Fulfilment title. For other coverage, see our News page on this website.
In conjunction with Easyfairs, the Association’s major annual exhibition is Contract Pack, to be re-badged as Contract Pack & Fulfilment in 2020, with the strapline ‘The future of contract manufacturing, packing, fulfilment & logistics’. The BCMPA features a hospitality lounge, with around 20 members taking stands. In 2018 the BCMPA also exhibited at Making Pharmaceuticals, Vitafoods, Packaging Innovations London and Food Matters Live, and we visited other events to support and promote our members. A new addition for 2019 is CHEMUK in Harrogate. The Association sponsors ‘Contract Packer of the Year’ at the UK Packaging Awards.
Our Conference provides a unique opportunity for members across all sectors to come together to network and listen to top industry speakers from organisations such as M&S, Packaging Federation, PPMA, Soil Association, BRC and the UK Warehousing Association. Recent topics have included the role of plastics, recycling, Brexit, intelligent labelling and mergers & acquisitions.
First of all, you must have an operational site in the UK which provides contract manufacturing, co-packing, fulfilment or logistics services. Current BCMPA members range from multi-national firms to SMEs turning over less than £1m. What we look for are companies who are professional at what they do and it is our policy to conduct a satisfactory audit visit prior to membership being accepted. Our aim is to ensure that the services of our members meet the high standards expected by the customers who contact us.
