BCMPA #outsourcingis campaign launch success, as PI Show announces record attendance figures
The February 2025 edition of the Packaging Innovations & Empack show was a great success, with visitor attendance figures at 7,424 across the two days, breaking all previous records. The depth and robust scope of content provided by the organisers ensured that visitors had plenty of opportunity to engage with the dialogue around the packaging industry.
The BCMPA Hospitality zone hosted over 20 members who were able to showcase the ways in which they can provide outsourcing solutions to brand owners and retailers by offering contract manufacturing, packing and fulfilment services across a range of sectors, from food, drink, personal care, medical, ecommerce/fulfilment and many more. We were pleased to launch the #outsourcingis campaign which also marks the 25th Anniversary of the BCMPA and is designed to highlight what outsourcing means across the industry and the vital part it plays in the supply chain. The results of the #outsourcingis campaign will be released over LinkedIn and the campaign will continue across 2025.
Emma Verkaik, CEO of the BCMPA, took part in two speaker panels. The first, hosted by software provider Nulogy and including BCMPA Members DHL and Prism eLogistics, explored how technology enables co packers to work more efficiently, thus providing better outcomes for customer and supplier. The second fireside chat was with Rob Smith of Arrowtown Drinks, a startup drinks company using 3rd party fulfilment to grow his business, and Laura Ball of PHL Group. The conversation looked at how 3rd party fulfilment makes all the difference to growth and scale up for startups, allowing brands to streamline operations, cut costs, and focus on their own business plans.
Emma was also asked to judge on this years Future Trailblazers Campaign and was very pleased to be able to present awards at the show to BCMPA member Mailways’ Robert Rigby for his Award in the Delivery Management Category, and James O Rourke for his Production Delivery Entry. Verkaik said “Rewarding the talent within our industry is a great way to future proof what we do, but also to encourage innovation within the industry – it is very satisfying to see two BCMPA members in the frame for these awards and I am also delighted to see that the Contract Pack industry is becoming more widely recognised for its overall value in the Packaging Supply Chain.”
The BCMPA also held its Gala Dinner after the first night of the show at the Lake Lounge, Genting Hotel, Resorts World. The evening was attended by 70 guests who were able to relax after the first day of Packaging Innovations & Empack, and be entertained by Gary Jones, a Gold Star member of the Inner Magic Circle.
