In the July/August edition of Packaging News, Emma Verkaik reviews the first BCMPA Conference to be held in 6 Years. The event was a great success and looked at the future direction of the contract manufacturing, packing, fulfilment and logistics industry.
Held at the Delta by Marriot, Nottingham the event was hailed a great success by all the delegates, sponsors and speakers. The attendees were treated to a series of engaging presentations and panel discussions, which were geared towards helping business owners involved in 3rd party manufacturing and packing to navigate their way through an-ever changing business landscape.

In the June issue of the Co-Pack & Fulfilment in Packaging News, Emma Verkaik thanks Rodney Steel for his dedication and work in building the BCMPA over the past 20 years as he retires from CEO and she takes over the role. The review of the successful CHEMUK Show back in May reports a 41% increase in footfall showing the value for customers wanting to do business face to face. In addition BCMPA members Lubepack and Wepack report investment in their contract packing facilities and Alexir celebrate their AA+ BRC status, and Orean add certified BCorp status to their business.

I almost hesitate to say it bearing in mind the pressures that all businesses have encountered this year. The big positive is that the strategy to outsource has grown exponentially in 2022 and is destined to continue in 2023.
