Cannington Enterprises Ltd

Cannington Co-Packing Services is a subsidiary of Cannington Enterprises Ltd. Established in 1914 the business is family owned and runs and operates significant farming operations locally in Somerset, in addition to both chilled and frozen warehousing. As the family sought to diversify their business interests, this saw the formation of another business unit, Cannington Bio Energy (Anaerobic Digestion). In addition the business operates as Cannington Recycling Services, which is dedicated to de-packing waste finished goods (fruit juices, milk, cheese etc) from local manufacturers and redundant raw materials into their constituent components (liquid, solids, cardboard, stretchwrap, cans and plastics) before sending for ‘upstream’ recycling or the anaerobic digestor.

The latest arm is Cannington Co-packing Services, which comprises two new semi-automated bag filling lines located in a purpose built building. With multiple sizes and formats available this operation would suit clients looking to pack bagged horticultural products, aggregates, saw dust, sand, top soil, bark or wood chip.

The services offered include packaging procurement, blending, full pallet ‘hooding’, palletising and pallet labelling of the products. Post packing, the products can be stored in our yard or warehouse prior to collection or delivery. The business also operates a small fleet of vehicles from the site, which allows us to be highly responsive to customers delivery requirements.

Finally and possibly uniquely, all of the electricity to power the filling lines is produced on site from a sustainable and renewable source, bio methane.
